Technology Does Not Make Us Alone

Technology has definitely improved our lives, this is because of the various aspects of it: cars, internet, phones. Will anyone doubt that these devices have improved our lives? Technology is just THERE, it is how we use it. IF we use it daily, use the internet daily, use it until the point of addiction, of course technology has helped to make us dependent, but the key factor that has made us dependent is ourselves. We do not blame fire for being hot, much like we should not blame technology for our own lack of discipline. Technology improves our lives, it can also hinder it, but how we use technology is the key.

Because many people....Use technology now a days...Instead of talking to other people.. They prefer to stay at home and play or do face book in their PC chat through phones or listen music through air phone....Many people think that they cant do anything without their phones or say that their life is boring without technology

In Everyday Life:

We use some form of technology in almost everything we do, yet we've never noticed.
You cook on a stove, right? Warm up something in the microwave? You have both a cold and a hot water tap. You drive or ride in a car, don't you? Technology is all around us.

Social Media :

Phones and the internet connect us to people thousands of miles away and have connected people together and widened our view on things and made information more accessible to people. You may think we are becoming too dependent on it and i agree but that may be a good thing because that's the way our world seems to be advancing now and that is in technology.

Interactive Play Station:

An interactive game is more engaging than a book, so technology often promotes more practice and review in areas requiring memorization, such as spelling, math and geography. This frees up time in the classroom so educators can focus on skills like problem solving, character development and critical thinking.

Smart Phones:

Much like how smart phones extend the workday by allowing professionals to send emails anytime, educational technology extends the school day for kids who will happily play multiplication games or review grammar on computer programs.

Conclusion:

The success of any tool depends on how it’s used. Ask how a gadget or program furthers higher thinking, basic skills, or the child’s ability to evaluate, analyze, and synthesize ideas. This way, you’ll ensure that it’s being used for more than its novelty.

                                         Do People Complain Too Much

I think it’s natural for people to complain. Everyday we’re faced with a lot of reasons to complain: we’re not tall enough, we don’t have the latest and greatest, it’s too hot, it’s too cold, they get everything handed to them, they should n’t be doing this they should be doing that, etc.

Life’s not fair:

    •  I think most of us complain because we feel things are unfair and out of our control. Why do they have so much when I have nothing? I have worked just as hard, saved harder and I still don’t have as much to show for it. It’s just not fair.

    • Genuinely unhappy:

Some people are just genuinely unhappy. They can’t find joy in any aspect of their life. Genuinely unhappy people take to complaining to express their dissatisfaction with their life and in many situations it’s used as a coping mechanism as well.

Jealousy:

Most times people won’t admit to this as it’s a rather unbecoming trait. They may also not admit to it because they truly don’t recognize it as jealousy. This ties in with the first point of life not being fair. The emotion that can come out of that is jealousy. When you wish you had the new car, or the new job or the high salary there is a tendency to complain, either that the other people are getting this or that you’re not.

    Lack of empathy:

A lot of times we complain because we lack empathy for others. Think about this: You complain that someone is n’t doing something “right”, they should be doing it this way because that’s what we would do if we were in that position. When we lack empathy we are n’t able to fully put our self in the other persons place. We don’t know the thoughts going through their head or what other complexities they are facing in their lives at that moment.

What can we do about it?

  • Think before we speak
  • Have a plan
  • Don’t just moan about it do something
  • Change your perspective

Ramadan; Welcome Ramadan

     "Welcome Ramadan"

Ramadan is one of the twelve Arabic (Hijri) months. It is a month which is valued in the Islamic religion, and it is distinguished from the other months by a number of characteristics and virtues, including the following:

  • Allah has made fasting this month the fourth pillar of Islam.
  • Allah revealed the Qur’aan in this month.
  • Allah has made Laylat al-Qadr in this month, which is better than a thousand months.
  • In this month, Allah opens the gates of Paradise and closes the gates of Hell, and chains up the devils.
  • Every night Allah has people whom He redeems from the Fire.
  • Fasting Ramadan is a means of expiation for the sins committed since the previous Ramadan, so long as one avoids major sins.
  • Fasting in Ramadan is equivalent to fasting ten months.
  • Whoever prays qiyaam in Ramadan with the imam until he finishes, it will be recorded for him that he spent the whole night in prayer.
  • Umrah in Ramadan is equivalent to Hajj.
  • It is Sunnah to observe i’tikaaf (retreat for the purpose of worship) in Ramadan, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) always did that.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say these words when the month of Sha`ban draws to a close, "O Muslims! A noble and generous month has come to you. A month in which a night is better than one thousand months, and this month is the month of charity, patience, and mercy. In this month the gates of Paradise become wide open and the gates of Hell are shut, and the devils are chained…

                                                                                                   (An-Nasa'i)

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) urged us to fast, not only from food and drink, but also to refrain from any bad behavior, whether it is against one’s self, the society or the humanity at large.

How to Welcome Ramadan?

Allah is giving us another opportunity in our life to witness the month of Ramadan. Ramadan is a great time of God’s blessings and His mercy. Every Muslim should take full advantage of this time. We should get ready to welcome this month and receive it with happiness.

Following are some ways to welcome this month:

1. Special Du’a

Pray to God that this month reaches you while you are in the best of health and safety so that you can fast and do all your acts of devotion with ease and enthusiasm.
It is reported by Anas ibn Malik that, when Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to see Ramadan’s crescent, he used to pray:

"O Allah, make this crescent to shine on us with safety, faith, security, Islam and good fortune to do what is beloved and pleasing to our Lord. Our and your Lord is Allah."  (At- Tarmidhi)

2. Thanks and Happiness

When the month comes, then you should be thankful to God and show happiness. The companions of the Prophet used to greet each other on the beginning of Ramadan.

3. Planning and Determination

You should make a good plan for the whole month about how you are going to organize your days and evenings during Ramadan. Plan special schedules for your work so that you can pray on time, read the Quran and take Sahur (the meal consumed early in early morning before fajr prayer) and Iftar (breaking the fast at sunset, Maghrib prayer) on time.
Have sincere intention and determination to take full advantage of this time. Also have a full determination and commitment that you will not do any sin or anything wrong during this time. In this way you can benefit much more from your fasting and prayers.

4. Learn about the Rules of Fasting

Fiqh of fasting is very important so that you do not do anything that will spoil your fasts. Learn the way of Prophet Muhammad in fasting. That is the best way. Fast is not spoiled only by eating and drinking during the fast, but also by speaking bad words and doing wrong things.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

"Whosoever does not give up bad words and bad deeds, Allah has no need in that he leaves his food and his drink." (Al-Bukhari, 1903

5. Charity, Generosity and Kindness

The month of Ramadan is the month of kindness, charity and generosity. Plan to invite your neighbors, co-workers, friends, Muslims and non-Muslims to have Iftar meal with you. Let your non-Muslims friends and neighbors know about this month and its blessings. Be more generous and help the poor and needy. Plan to give your alms and charity at this time and help others as much as you can.
